Dr. Martin Jugenburg at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center

Getting invited as a surgeon into one of the most prestigious and renowned hospitals in the entire world is no small feat. It takes a more-than impressive list of recommendations, written publications and years of dedicated and hard work in the plastic surgery field to be one of three international applicants selected to be a part of the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Martin Jugenburg was one of those applicants. The Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is world-renowned for the amazing amount of cancer-related research and for its stellar quality of care for the patients that are fortunate enough to be admitted to the facility.

Dr. Jugenburg was one of only three applicants selected to be a part of this hospital and its extremely challenging reconstructive surgery cases. While Dr. Jugenburg was a resident at the MSKCC he conducted around 800 surgeries in the first year with nearly 80% of these cosmetic surgeries involving breast reconstruction and breast implant cosmetic procedures. The other fifth of his surgeries encompassed a wide range of cosmetic surgery procedures anything from perineal and vaginal reconstruction, microsurgical free flap reconstruction for breast cancer patients and many others just to name a few. During his time at the MSKCC, Dr. Jugenburg had an article published in a prestigious publication called Plastic Surgery Clinics, it was an impressive review of Radiotherapy and Breast Reconstruction. The article is just one of many that Dr. Jugenburg had published during his residency years.
